The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and have a high aptitude for computer software. You should be self-motivated, excel at multi-tasking, and be able to proactively address emerging needs of the organization. Opportunities for advancement include increased responsibility for company proposals, communications, and contracts, and/or increased responsibility in IT management. Technical writing and marketing expertise or an interest in IT would benefit your ability to grow in this role. Your efforts will help to ensure that our company runs efficiently, and our employees have the tools they need to carry out our mission.

This Position requires the ability to be onsite 5 days a week. The team is currently working in a hybrid model (onsite and virtual/work from home)

Job Purpose

As an Administrative Assistant, you will join the administrative team consisting of senior leadership, marketing, finance, and HR. You will provide administrative support for office management, IT/computers, and proposals/contracts.

Duties & Responsibilities

Office Management  

  • Maintaining supply inventories
  • Managing off-site document storage
  • Managing maintenance of Straughan’s vehicles
  • Managing building maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades
  • Placing food or supply orders
  • Making travel arrangements
  • Coordinating and supporting special event planning, and event registrations
  • Assisting with marketing projects including proposals, staff resumes, contract reviews, and work descriptions
  • Conducting research on the market and industry events

IT Support

  • Coordinating with staff on computer setups and logistics
  • Maintaining inventories
  • Performing phone setups
  • Assisting with special projects. We utilize a vendor to provide all technical IT support and management
  • You will be required to be on-call for urgent IT issues and your working hours may occasionally fall outside of normal business hours to accommodate those needs



High school diploma


  • A minimum of 3 years of administrative experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Valid driver’s license

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills
