Job Purpose

Environmental Management System (EMS) Lead as well as Projects support member, at a major federal facility.  This role will report to the senior project manager (Program Lead). This position will also support the Asbestos Program Lead as back up.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

EMS lead responsibilities:

 

• Coordinate, prepare, and facilitate meetings with senior staff and other environmental stakeholders on site.
• Monitor, track, review, and rank all onsite activities based on environmental impacts and aspects. 
• Develop, monitor, and track projects progress towards goals associated against high priority aspects and environmental management program’s needs. 
• Provide oversight for operational controls concerning activities within the scope of the environmental support contract. 
• Conduct ISO 14001:2015 equivalent environmental internal audits and assist with external audits. 
• Prepare and lead trainings in the Environmental Management System.

 

Projects support responsibilities:

 

• Manage and coordinate the reviews of all new and existing program projects
• Ensure environmental aspects and impact are addressed throughout the life cycle of the project (planning, design, construction, operation, and closure),
• Work with internal media leads, and other external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education

Must either possess a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Environmental, Chemical, Civil) or BS in Environmental Science, Chemistry plus 2-3 years of related experience or Environmental policy

Experience

·         Must have excellent verbal communication skills, demonstrated track record of public speaking to clearly communicate ideas across various levels of the organization

·         Must have minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

·         Experience and knowledge in the EMS program

·         Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, peers, and other contractor organizations.

·         Must be competent in the use of all elements of Microsoft Office Professional. 

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in Asbestos management is a plus
